Stop air from leaking in your home’s attic, outer walls, windows, doors and other openings. New Mexico Gas Company offers a $200 rebate when you work with a participating contractor.
Benefits of Sealing Your Home’s Envelope
You can find some of the largest opportunities to save energy in your attic. You also can stop major air leaks and help to maintain the desired temperature throughout your home. Combined with attic insulation, air sealing can help to prevent dangerous ice dams from forming in the winter, plus:

Save Energy and Money
Reduce your heating and cooling costs by an average of 15% (or your total energy costs by an average of 11%).

Improve Comfort
Reduce outside noise, control humidity and prevent pollen, dust and insects (or pests) from entering your home.

Get Rebates
Save up to $200 when you use a licensed and insured participating contractor to seal your home’s envelope.
How It Works
Air sealing must be completed between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2025. Rebate applications must be received by April 30, 2025. See Program Terms and Conditions for additional details.
A participating contractor will:
- Perform a “pre” blower door test to help target your largest gaps
- Make the recommended air sealing improvements
- Complete a “post” blower door test to show your improvements
Your "pre and post" blower door tests must show your improvements cut air leakage by 10%.
Customers who receive natural gas service from New Mexico Gas Company, as evidenced by the New Mexico Gas Company residential customer account number, are eligible.
